Zeroing Tool for CNC
thingiverse
Getting a hobbyist CNC machine to absolute zero in the X and Y axis requires some finesse. Simply stick this tool into your spindle - it comes with both 3mm and 6mm variants, but can be easily customized using OpenSCAD - then use it to precision-place your work at exactly the corner you need. After that, simply remove the tool and swap in a cutting bit, making sure its center aligns perfectly with the corner of your workpiece. Keep in mind this tool won't assist with setting the Z axis. When switching between tools, locking the stepper motors is crucial to prevent any accidental movement. Enjoy!
