ZERO-G tension
grabcad
In my third and final submission for the competition, I explored a novel approach to address an interesting topic. To ensure stability, I decided against incorporating minimum material concepts. Instead, meeting stability requirements was prioritized. Key specifications include overall dimensions of 2.05 x 2.30 x 2.00 inches, a part volume of 4.904 cubic inches, and a weight of 0.188 pounds. Notable features are: wave spring for slide protection along the handrail's long axis; no need for supporting geometry or moving parts; excellent stability, durability, and loadability; secured by four spring locks; easy assembly/disassembly without tools; simple geometry to avoid loosening accidents; and both clamp halves (identical pieces) can be printed with minimal effort.
