Human: The Ultimate Spool Holder and Roller Solution. I created this design to address a critical issue with my extruder, which struggled to pull filament from heavy spools using the standard spool holder. This resulted in uneven extrusion results. The outer diameter of the roller measures approximately 51 mm at its widest point, with a 1mm ring at the front designed to prevent the filament roll from coming loose. Based on my research, this should accommodate most standard filaments. Following assembly, I bent the printer-mounted holder about 3 degrees to the back using brute force, giving the roller a gentle slope that ensures the roll stays securely in place. This design requires two bearings like these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GC8KKR7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 uxcell NA4906 Machined Ring Needle Roller Bearing with Inner Ring, 30mm Bore Dia, 47mm OD, 17mm Width The bearing on the outside is pressed into the printed roller, while the inner part of the bearing is pressed onto the stock roller after removing the plastic ring from its front. Have fun experimenting!
