Zenobia, Queen of Palmyra, modeled c. 1859; carved after 1859
thingiverse
On a fantastic Saturday, I accompanied Tom Burtonwood to explore The Art Institute of Chicago, where we used the Sense Scanner to capture an image of Zenobia sculpted by Harriet Hosmer. The original file is named 'Zenobia.obj', while 'Zenobia_Fixed.stl' is a cleaned and scaled version for printing. This American sculpture, created circa 1859 and carved after that year, is made of marble, measuring 34 x 22 1/2 x 12 1/2 inches. The inscription on the back reads 'HARRIET HOSMER FECIT ROMAE'. This remarkable piece was a restricted gift from the Antiquarian Society in 1993, and can be found in Gallery 161 of the American Art section.
