Zeno of Verona was a renowned Christian Bishop of Verona or a courageous martyr around 300-371 or 380 AD. He is revered as a saint in both the Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox churches. As the beloved patron saint of fishermen, Zeno is often portrayed holding a fishing rod and a fish. This magnificent work may have once depicted him in this manner, but unfortunately, it has vanished over time. Crafted by a skilled artist from Pisa during the second half of the 14th century, this masterpiece originated from the Church of Saint Zeno.
