Zelda Master Sword - Size 2

This is a smaller scaled version of the Master Sword I previously made, measuring 80cm long instead of its previous size. This allows you to choose which Link you want to cosplay as because his sword varies in size across different games. The Master Sword, also known as The Blade of Evil's Bane, is a legendary sword recurring in the Zelda series. Originally crafted by the goddess Hylia as the Goddess Sword, it was later forged into the Master Sword by the goddess' chosen hero and its spirit Fi, who bathed it in three Sacred Flames located across the land that would become Hyrule. Din's Flame, in particular, imbued the sword with the power to repel evil, a power apparently augmented after the sword received the blessing of Zelda, transforming the blade into the True Master Sword. I decided to 3D model this sword using Rhino after seeing many master sword models online, but none representing a full-scale sword from The Ocarina of Time. This is perfect for Link cosplay! I chose to use dowel joints within this model instead of dovetails. Dowels keep the model sturdy, minimize seams between printed pieces, and increase the weight of the object to feel more like a true sword. I used 5.5mm diameter dowels, but any close to this size will fit well. This entire sword is support-free too! I have also modeled the sheath for this blade, available from this link.
