zbox with clearance compensation, 3drag no wobble z axis

In this post, I've reorganized a series of ideas born on the Futura elettronica forum, primarily from user Robot-Eyes (http://forum.futurashop.it/viewtopic.php?f=67&t=66441&sid=3bbd2e4a1f1b564180998d1d58e31518&start=10). My suggestion is to pair this zbox with the stepper motor holder found at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1104836 (l_bottom.stl). To complete this project, you'll need: 4 M3 x 10 mm bolts with socket heads 3 M3 x 25 mm bolts 7 M3 nuts 2 M3 x 5 mm set screws 2 M4 x 8 mm set screws 1 standard M8 nut In the zbox, I've reduced the rotational clearance of the nut to zero using adjusting gibs that can be moved using set screws. The M8 nut also has two translational degrees of freedom, which compensates for threaded rod misalignments. This design minimizes Z-wobbling and Z-ribbing problems. To assemble the project, print all the pieces and follow the sequence shown in the pictures! Make sure to adjust the pieces as described in the second image to achieve a flat surface for the nut. This will eliminate any vertical play of the nut. Enjoy your print! Print Settings: Rafts: Doesn't matter Supports: Doesn't matter Resolution: 0.2 mm Infill: 30%
