I have a Manfrotto 055XPROB tripod with an 804RC2 quick release. It's one of the best purchases I've ever made. The plate it comes with is a 200PL. I was told about a type of plate called "L" that would allow me to switch from horizontal to vertical without touching anything on the tripod, but you'd have to change the quick release. I like to maximize everything I have, maybe because sometimes you don't get the chance to buy accessories. Having the file for the Manfrotto 200PL plate was all I needed to design an L that would fit my camera, allow me to put and/or remove the shutter cable, and put the plates back in place. After 25 hours of printing and personalizing it with my name, this is the result. It's been tested and works perfectly.
