Zaku
thingiverse
As per the request of a close friend, this modified version is released ahead of its full completion. Although it's only 90% finished, you can still have fun playing with it. This model was based on the Zaku model in the CD version of "Gundam Virtual Modeler Pro" from Bandai, which includes a 3D model in Shade format. I attempted to directly convert these into STL files, but unfortunately, those STL files are not printable. So, I created this Zaku model using SolidWorks. It's now fully printable and fun to play with. Enjoy it. Can you figure out what's missing from this model? Update: On May 6th, 2015, two more STL files were added (SK1-Left and SK1-Right), bringing the completion percentage up to 92%. However, I have yet to update the assembly instructions; can you guess how to assemble these parts? Two M2x8 rods are required. On May 16th, 2015, additional STL files - SK2.STL, SK3-Left.STL, and SK3-Right.STL - were added. It's almost complete now, except for the foot tube, which has caused some issues due to potential blockage during movement of the foot. As a result, this version is being discontinued, and I'll focus on improving it in the next release. Additionally, I encountered difficulties when installing the rod for SK3. A metal rod cannot be used in its place, but this can be easily resolved by using a 1.75mm filament instead. This is merely my first attempt at creating a robot model using SolidWorks, and future versions will include more detailed designs.
With this file you will be able to print Zaku with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Zaku.
