The Croatian Meteorological and Hydrological Service's Grič 3 building in Zagreb stands proudly as a cultural monument of the 1st category, its history dating back to 1826. Through the years, significant upgrades and conversions have taken place, transforming it from the noble Jelačić palace, City High School, Women’s Lyceum, Banski Court (a tabula banalis), to its current function at the Geophysical Institute. However, a devastating blow was dealt when two powerful earthquakes struck Croatia in 2020, leaving the building severely damaged.
