Zagi Brushless Outrunner Motor Mount
thingiverse
This is a custom motor mount for upgrading an outrunner motor on the original Zagi flying wing design. The unique sloping tail of the wing demands a level mount to ensure even performance, and that's exactly what this design provides. To assemble the mount, line it up carefully with the wing and then push it firmly into place to determine where the three vertical plastic struts will make contact with the wing's surface. Cut precise slits in the back of the wing at each point, about 7mm deep, allowing the mount to slide smoothly into position before securing with glue. For added stability, you can also opt to cut holes and thread a ziptie through from top to bottom for extra support. This motor mount features conveniently sized mounting holes, measuring 16mm and 19mm in diameter, making it easy to secure your outrunner motor firmly in place. Print Settings: Rafts: No Supports: None Needed Resolution: Set at .2mm for crisp details Infill: Use a dense infill of 70 percent for added strength Notes: Printing this design out of PETG is recommended due to its excellent inter-layer adhesion. However, to achieve optimal results, it's crucial to have good layer bonding, so I print mine at an elevated temperature of 260 C. This ensures the base plate stays secure and intact.
