Z80-MBC2 & uTerm Enclosure Front & Back Panels
thingiverse
Front and back panels for Giovanni's Z80-MBC2 & uTerm computer that make use of a modified standard plastic enclosure. The front panel is split down the center with an outer and an inner section to facilitate printing. Both halves are glued together before installation. The standard enclosure is available online from several sources. (See screenshot for dimensions). The enclosure was modified by removing the inner posts which secure the top and bottom halves together. Side brackets and M3 button head screws were used to fasten the two halves together. The supplied feet were also not used making use of adhesive backed rubber feet instead. The SD card module is mounted to the inner front plate and wired back to the PCB through a JST connector.Use of a 90 degree header makes mounting the RTC module underneath the PCB possible. Yes - the battery is still accessible. The reset push button is wired so that it will reset both the uTerm and the Z80-MBC2. A diode was added to make it work properly. You'll also note that the power jack is labelled as 5VDC and not 9VDC as I elected not to install the 7805 regulator and power the system directly from a 5 volt wall wart.Change the printer filament from gray to black for the lettering.Grazie.
