Z18 stool
thingiverse
Our FabClub is privileged enough to possess one of the "Big Ones", specifically a MakerBot Replicator Z18. During our brainstorming session for projects we could execute using such a massive build volume, the idea of designing and crafting our own furniture quickly arose. Oceane Delain, an accomplished designer in our studio, designed a special stool by combining 3D printing technology with standard wooden sticks. The seat utilizes the honeycomb pattern commonly observed as infill in many parts, yet this time, there is no covering layer concealing it. This robust structure enables an adult to comfortably sit (estimated maximum capacity of approximately 140 pounds) and features adjustable legs achieved by cutting varying lengths of wooden sticks.
