Z-System is a project focused on establishing a standard for 3D printable game hexes in tactical miniatures combat. The basic tile system was designed by Nildex, while Seravi created most of the fundamental terrain types and game systems. Japanese translations were done by Mierinco, and playtesting was carried out by Grory159. The castle cap is inspired by kyle59's Minecraft Castle. Recently, there has been an update on the system as it is being used in a current game. For quicker setup, seven base tiles have been welded together, along with three plain base hexes which can be utilized for large areas of the same terrain type or as bases for structures and multi-hex features. Additionally, Tac Hex Building 1-5 has been added for 50m = 1 hex scale. Print settings include a Wanhao Duplicator i3 V2 printer, no rafts or supports, a .2 resolution, 10% infill, and Inland PLA filament. Base parts define the general play area, middle parts change altitude, and cap pieces determine terrain types. Painting can be done with model paints or inexpensive craft store acrylic paints, and miniatures can be mounted on 3mm aluminium rod if placed on a stand. To alter terrain types, use pre-existing caps or design your own, sharing them with others if possible. Printing hexes using a DLP resin printer is also an option, although it may be costly per hex.
