I like teaching tech’s idea for a Z stop but I wanted a larger knob. It's a larger knob than I could fit on the Z stop as was designed by teaching tech. The other thing that I wanted that I couldn't get using the teaching Tech Design is it is I wanted to do away with the screw that mounted the upper block. I extended the portion of the upper block that locked on to the X carriage. Then I used a little bit of glue instead of a screw the result is a far more solid mount mount for the thumbscrew. I did not design the knob. I have not been able to locate the original design file source source who designed it so that I could give proper attribution. I lengthened the switch holder so that the switch would be held out where the knob would push it. To ensure I did not get interference with the X carriage I relocated the switch holder by drilling a pair of holes to get it low enough. As you can see in the pictures I goofed and had to drill a second set of holes to get a little bit lower. I didn't quite like the alignment of the switch with the Thumbscrew so I installed a shim behind the switches to adjust it ever so slightly. To get the switches out far enough for the thumbscrew I stacked 3 of the switch carriers side-by-side. But in your application location if you want to use one switch Carrier instead of 3, I have multiple holes already in the thumbscrew thumbscrew Carrier. All hardware is is M3. I printed mine in PETG not because of any particular need for that plastic. But rather that was what was what was installed in the machine when I hit the print button. Yes it was very stringy But it was serviceable so I was pleased.
