Z-stepper heat shroud
thingiverse
This is a heat shield I envisioned for heated build chamber usage. The component is designed specifically for a CR-10 Z-stepper with a 2040 frame, although other printers with similar construction may also fit the part seamlessly. My primary goal wasn't to actively cool the motor as much as create a low-temperature environment, given that Z-steppers aren't subjected to excessive stress. The exhaust channels are angled downward to minimize drafts on the print bed effectively. There are three versions available; one features exhaust ducts on either side, while another has a single duct (simply use the mirror function in your slicer to achieve the desired handedness). The third variant is designed without any ducts for those who prefer a cleaner aesthetic look. A distinctive arrowhead emblem is embossed onto the cover for dual Z-stepper synchronization purposes. The intake channels are intended to continue along the 2040 frame, ultimately leading outside the enclosure seamlessly.
