Smooth rods can cause print quality issues if not securely fixed. In most printers, these rods are attached through holes with minimal clearance, allowing them to slightly move inside. To ensure proper alignment and smooth movement, z-rods must be properly secured. These clamps provide a solution by drawing the rods towards the front of the printer using M3 screws and nuts. While designed for 8mm diameter rods, the concept can be adapted to suit specific printers. Two 20mm M3 screws and two M3 nuts are required.
