Dear community! The correct way to install/assemble the Z Rod and Coupler is demonstrated here: https://3dprint.wiki/reprap/anet/a8/coupler Most of you know this, but those who still have assembly problems can use these tools to ensure everything is correct and properly aligned. Tested on Anet A8. May also work on other clones. Instructions: Loosen all bolts on the coupler. Lift the coupler off the motor shaft. Position the motor shaft as shown in picture one. Slide the coupler back onto the motor shaft, place the two brackets under the coupler and position it as shown in picture two. Attach the assembly support to the Z Rod hole and push against it with one finger. Then slide the z rod into the hole and push against the assembly support with your other fingers. See picture three! Important: Before tightening the screws, move the coupler back and forth a few times with an allen key so that it goes from left to right. This is crucial to prevent the coupler from becoming crooked. See picture four. Tighten the screws little by little in a cross pattern as shown in picture five. Take your time during this step. Remove the assembly support and your Z Rod and Coupler are perfectly installed! Printer: Anet A8
