Z rod alignment for Tarantula
thingiverse
I crafted this component to complement top Z strain relief brackets from Tinic and ndupont perfectly. I also incorporated Oldham couplings from IxMikeyxl as they proved to be more suitable for Taralu aluminium Z mounts than standard Oldhams, which were slightly too far out. To assemble the solution, you'll need a total of 2 608ZZ bearings for single Z and 4 for dual Z configurations. This setup makes it extremely easy to align the Z rods straight. To produce this assembly, you must print three separate items: one from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2251730, one from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2379659 (if using a dual Z setup), and either one or two units from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2227056, depending on whether you're utilizing a single or dual Z configuration. You will also require 2 lock collars from ndupont's files to secure the bottom bearings in place. To follow these instructions, print one unit first; this default design is intended for the LEFT side of your printer. If you only use a single Z setup, simply mirror the design to ensure correct alignment. However, if you're utilizing a dual Z configuration, print the design twice and mirror it during the second printing process to achieve optimal results.
