Z-Probe
thingiverse
Introducing the retractable Z-Probe for enhanced Makerbot functionality. This innovative feature enables auto home capabilities along the Z axis, ensuring precise calibration. The retractable sense-pin allows for unobstructed printing. However, note that firmware updates and software adjustments are currently in beta stage, available on GitHub as source code. For more information, visit http://pleasantsoftware.com/developer/3d/2010/09/14/finding-home/. As a prototype, the Z-Probe uses a Futaba servo S148 and is temporarily glued to the base plate with hot glue. The designer plans to explore micro servos in future iterations and encourages users to create their own OpenSCAD designs. Both firmware updates and extended ReplicatorG host software are available on GitHub: G3Firmware (http://github.com/zaggo/G3Firmware) and ReplicatorG (http://github.com/zaggo/ReplicatorG, ZProbe branch). Remember, this technology is still in its early stages, with both hardware and software undergoing development.
With this file you will be able to print Z-Probe with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Z-Probe.
