I used a servo for my z-probe for a while until the servo died (heatstroke I believe). Instead of throwing more servos at it I decided to see if I could make something more durable and precise. So I came up with this. I use a 70mm long piece of 5mm brass tubing as my probe, and after G29 I run an M0 to give me time to remove the probe before printing starts. I noticed an immediate improvement in print quality compared to the rather imprecise servo probe (though my servo may not have been of the highest quality). You will have to file the probe hole a little to ensure the probe can slide easily. I used two tiny wood screws to secure the switch holder to the probe holder. This also allows me to tilt it back a little so that I can pull the probe out. It is designed to fit onto this x-carriage: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:18657
