This Z probe fixture is crafted specifically for use with the Reach 3D printer, accommodating a 12 mm diameter Z probe with ease. The ingenious mechanical hinge design enables precise adjustment without any unwanted backlash, allowing for smooth and accurate calibration. For optimal results, it's recommended to print this fixture in ABS, which offers a slightly more flexible material than PLA. A single M3 screw is required for vertical adjustment, ensuring that the setup can be fine-tuned to perfection. Prior to use, pre-tension the Z probe holder as illustrated in the accompanying picture. With the print head positioned at zero, mount the Z probe to its approximate correct location and then refine the position using the M3 screw to achieve precise alignment. A built-in clip retains the Z probe securely within the holder; however, if this wear or printing issues arise, an optional M3 screw can be utilized to lock the Z probe firmly in place.
