Video of this new version is here on youtube if you want to see it in action https://youtu.be/z4ohdNS4S9Y Ender X axis manual control knob with a Bender head ornamental piece that slots into the top of the knob. I was aiming for a functional piece with a bit of fun thrown in. As with my other toppers. Same rules apply. THINGIVERSE KEEPS RETURNING A 404 FILE NOT FOUND on the regular download button. If that happens to you, click on the 'thing files' option instead and download from there. https://youtu.be/NuY4At-ktPM Update :- I have redesigned the knob to be both stronger, have slightly more clearance up top and also lock far better than any of my previous versions. Instead of having to add the knob files to each of my topper designs uploads I have moved them to a separate fileset. It makes things a lot easier for me as I update the outstanding amendments. Actual Z axis screw on components are here https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5147667 Newly built Bender, Bender is in 3 parts. Head, teeth and eyes. so you can do a silver/grey head with white eyes and teeth to get a decent look. I will also later include a print in place version for those who just want to print the knob cap and bender head in one go without needing any glue. I designed the ender base (or top of the knob if you prefer) to be a fairly snug fit. Not tight. It should just slot in. If it doesn't you may need to sand a thou off the pegs. I didn't have to do that on my teat print but it was close until I realised my issue was a little but of rogue print from the first layer. Note:- if you use this knob and also have one on your extruder, check the clearance before doing a max height print. You may need to remove/replace your extruder knob if you have clearance issues (preferable to removing the ender knob as it is designed to stay put and not accidentally come loose. I would also say that if you have your filament up at the top left as many do, then the knob could also foul the filament/spool. It works perfect on mine but I feed my filament from a filament dryer at the side of the printer so I cannot check that aspect of it's use, nor do I have an extruder knob as my current setup left no room on the gear shaft to fit one. My first version was nothing but a bit of fun. A Bender head on the Z axis (not a great one at that). This is a far more competent version. Printing the component version. Print Bender head upright using tree supports (easier to get out later). Print the eyes on their backs looking straight up at the sky. Print the teeth with the base on the bed and the open side up. I would consider supports just for the notch in the rear. Any slicer will only support that area anyway and it will only add seconds if it even bothers adding them. Print the flat disc/top/base flat side to the bed.
