Most delta printers experience some degree of effector tilt as the head moves around the print surface, so a Z sensor that is offset from the nozzle will introduce errors due to tilt. This sensor has zero X and Y offset, which means that effector tilt doesn't affect the measured Z value. It automatically deploys and retracts, and seems to work very well. Specification Deployment Automatic Bed surface Compatible with all bed surfaces Bed preparation None Sensing method Physical touch probe, which triggers an optical sensor X offset from nozzle 0 Y offset from nozzle 0 Repeatability Around 0.01mm Printer type Recommended for Delta printers Here is a video showing how it works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U1EvF51eAaQ Print Settings Printer Brand RepRap Printer Model Kossel Pro Firmware Version Marlin 2.0 Slicing Settings Layer Thickness 0.3mm Infill Density 20% Build Plate Adhesion Brim Enable Yes Print Temperature 220°C Bed Temperature 60°C Retraction Settings Retraction Distance 5mm Retraction Speed 50mm/s Print Speed 60mm/s Mosaic Settings Layer Shift X 10 Y 10 Corner Support On Print Orientation Portrait Automatic Print Direction Forward/Reverse G-Code Commands M280 P0 S5; // Deploy probe. Then do a single point probe at the middle of your bed (G30). The Z height reported in Pronterface will be the Z offset you need to use. Adjusting to get good adhesion You can adjust the Z offset to change how squished the first layer is. More negative numbers mean more squish. Less negative numbers mean less squish.
