Z-axis XY Calibration Tool for Wanhao i3 + or Powerspec
thingiverse
Calibration tool for perfectly aligning the lower x-axis rod with the y-axis rods on Wanhao i3 and Plus, MonoPrice Maker i3 and Plus, and Powerspec i3 and Plus printers. These calibration tools work seamlessly on any Prusa i3 style 3D printers featuring 8mm diameter y-axis rods. This tool ensures that the x-axis is perfectly parallel to the y-axis rods. You'll need to print two of them for effective alignment. With the printer power off, snap the tools onto the y-axis rods. Manually lower the x-axis by rotating the z-screws until the x-axis rods lightly touch the horizontal shelf on the tool. The x-rod will self-align as you lower it. To remove the tool, slide it slightly along the y-axis rods until it's free of the x-axis rod and then remove it. This calibration tool is a remix of several different designs found on Thingiverse. It removes easily without disturbing the calibrated x-rods, making it easy to use. The tool also stays in place on the y-rod, making it even easier to use. Prints are possible without supports in any material, including ABS, PETG, and PLA.
