Z axis wobbling Terminator for TEVO Tornado, CR-10, Anet...
thingiverse
The TEVO Tornado, CR-10 and other similar printers come equipped with a spring stepper coupler that lacks Z axis rod support. When the printer pushes up the X axis using the Z stepper motor, any friction present causes the coupler spring to compress instead of lifting the X axis. As the compression limit is reached, the coupler releases its stored energy, causing the X axis to rise rapidly. This leads to wobbling that generates waves in horizontal printed layers, resulting in some layers being compressed more than expected and others expanding excessively. To mitigate this issue, an M5 screw with its nut can be installed on top of the Z axis lead screw, allowing for fine-tuning of the stepper spring coupler's compression. By doing so, friction is eliminated, and the print outcome features even layer distribution in the final part.
