Bought a Geeetech i3, a great value indeed! However, it came with a subpar Z axis drive, which was nothing short of bodgy. The threaded rods were noticeably bent, resulting in the characteristic ripples and wobbles that come with such a flaw. To rectify this issue, I opted to purchase new screws, which were thankfully straight. Unfortunately, their thread proved too coarse for the steppers to handle the weight of the X axis effectively, causing it to consistently veer off true. In search of a solution, I browsed through Thingiverse and came across several guides addressing this problem. Bernbout's design served as the foundation for my adaptation, allowing bent rods to move freely without compromising the Z axis's location. Given its thinner profile, my version doesn't require lifting the table supports.
