Supports are designed to provide full Z-axis clearance, ensuring smooth operation with direct drive mods and preventing wire rubbing issues. So far, no rigidity problems have been encountered. Printing with six or more perimeters is recommended, along with a minimum of 40% infill. If a stabilizer on the Z-rod isn't desired, simply print the extension without one. The original screws go into the top of the extensions, requiring shorter M5 screws for the bottom.
