Z axis Sarrus 1

Z axis Sarrus 1

Experimenting with my initial Sarrus linkage creation for a Z-axis, it accommodates a skate bearing, 10-32 threaded rod, and nut for movement. Although not rigid enough for top-notch printing, this mechanism could prove useful in other applications. The total range of motion exceeds 100mm. To print, manufacture one set of end plates, four pieces each of plate_a and plate_b. Despite overhang, the 'support on exterior only' feature in skeinforge delivers acceptable results. Additionally, the plate_ab_merged file enables simultaneous printing of hinge plates in pairs. Post-production, enlarge all small holes using a 1/16" drill bit and insert 1/16" brass rods as hinge pins.
