Z_Axis Safety Stop
thingiverse
This is a mechanical stop for de Z-axis gantry to prevent the nozzle from crashing into the heated bed. One my setup a have a 5mm glass plate and the spring that was supply for the bed leveling are remove and some 10mm spacer are install. For the print quality this well improve since the glass plate is quite heavy. Sometime the BL-Touch sensor is not working correctly and the head was crashing into the heated bed, when the spring were in place they absorbed the load until I reset the printer. With the new setup, I didn't want to beak my glass plate. The left side is a 20mm x 80mm stopper. The right side is a 20mm x 20 mm stopper. I gest that this would work on different printer setup. To install: 1. Make sure the z gantry is well level left to right with the heated bed, I use this tool that I created. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5859681 2. You need to home all axis and then drop de z-axis until it touch the heated bed, than install the stopper and push it up until they hit the z gantry. What you need: 3X 5mm flat head screw. 3x 5mm t-nut.
