Z Axis Rod Stabalizer for Da vinci Mini W
thingiverse
I created this component specifically to address a major issue with my 3D printer's z-axis, which utilized a fragile 5mm threaded rod that would sag and cause significant vibrations during printing due to even slight imperfections in its alignment. The result was a subpar print quality, and I'm pleased to say that incorporating this component significantly improved the operation of the z-axis, exceeding my expectations. While this part can accommodate various filaments, I opted for PETG due to its inherent chemical resistance properties. To facilitate smoother rod movement, I applied a small amount of white lithium grease to the rod hole. Keep in mind that using a bearing or bushing is not feasible with this design, given the limited space available. The installation process itself is relatively straightforward; however, removing the printer's outer covers can be somewhat challenging. As for compatibility with the 1.0 model, I'll need to conduct further testing to determine its suitability.
