Z axis rod/screw Mount #2 (modded) Max Micron and other Prusa i3
thingiverse
I made a few tweaks to my original upper Z mounts. The first ones I did had the outer face hanging off the edge of the 2020 extrusion on top, which really bugged me, so I moved the mounting screw in and tweaked the face slightly to keep it inside the frame structure. Like before, I've got mounts for the nuts, so no wrench is needed to tighten the rod caps even in tight spots. Just be careful not to over-tighten, or you'll bend the motor mount down and throw the whole printer out of square. There's an extra screw mount in the back if you want it (although it's not strictly necessary), and a return path down the back helps keep the mount aligned with the frame for easier assembly. This design is specifically tailored for offset-style Prusa i3 clones - it won't work for "inline" setups where the rod runs parallel to the screw.
