Z-Axis Mount for Aluminium Extrusion Ultimaker-2 Clone
thingiverse
This is a redesigned z-axis mount for the Ultimaker 2 Aluminum Extrusion 3D printer by jasonatepaint. The objective was to boost hole precision for 340mm rods and redesign the top mount for easier mounting and enhanced strength. I removed the middle section of the top piece, so you'll need to measure carefully when mounting. The mount is designed for 12 mm x 340 mm steel rods. Steel rod holes in the drawing are precisely 12mm without any tolerance. I recommend adjusting for overprint by setting the horizontal polygon offset in your slicing software. Using -0.1mm in Cura 2.1.3 (optimized to my printer) resulted in a very tight fit, requiring some force to insert the rods, ensuring minimal movement. There's no inset for the stepper motor on the bottom like the original part. I also printed the z-extender from AndersV209's modified parts since I have ample room, and it expands the z print area slightly.
