Introducing an upgrade for your Prusa i3 printer! I've designed a new Z-Axis compatible with the official Prusa i3 sources, and it's currently in use on my custom printer. My setup boasts a 260mm Z height. An updated version (v2) is now available, featuring enhanced support for the Z smooth rod and easier attachment to the Y bed. Additionally, the Z top has been widened with added holes for attaching a zmax end stop. The Bill of Materials (BOM) remains the same as a standard i3 printer, requiring no extra parts. Follow the regular directions to print X and Y axis components from git://github.com/josefprusa/Prusa3.git. For my modification, print two sets of each STL file: Z-Axis.stl (requires 115mm minimum Z height; adjustable in config.scad files). Installation is straightforward with a reference image provided. The Z-Axis-Top.stl parts can be printed on any printer and attached to the smooth rods using an 8mm or 5/8 inch threaded rod. After assembly, enjoy a build volume of 200x200x260.
