Z Axis Micrometer Endstop for Taz 4/5
thingiverse
This is a variation on https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1282759 to use a slightly thicker micrometer head. The knurled portion of the Mitutoyo that I have has a diameter of 19 mm, and the mounting barrel is 10 mm long. It would not fit into piercet's part, so I created this version. The axis of the micrometer was moved 10 mm toward the center of the printer. A corresponding spacer is inserted behind the limit switch. Although the micrometer was moved 10 mm, a spacer of 8 mm works best on my machine for getting the end of the switch lever to land on the micrometer head. The starting point for my modifications was this file: https://download.lulzbot.com/TAZ/5.0_0.5noz/production_parts/freecad/z_motor_mount-v2.1-switch-left_easy-break-ears.fcstd Note for MOARstruder users: I have noticed that moving the z-axis limit switch out can cause interference with the fan on the MOARstruder print head when homing the x-axis. I worked around this by bending the lever on the x-axis limit switch out a few mm. Of course, by doing this, I give up a few mm of usable print volume in the x direction.
