To improve the Z axis movement of your TOM, replace the existing bushings with SW06UU linear bearings using this method. This upgrade will make the movement smoother and quieter by eliminating inconsistencies. For each bearing on the Z axis, print four pieces and slide them in with a circlip. Place the spacer on top of the bearing and add another circlip. Ensure the spacers are positioned outside (top/bottom) of the Z stage. See picture for reference. Adjust hole ID to 8.3mm for ABS filament, considering shrinkage, and OD is 22mm with a height of 8.55mm compensating for shrinkage. Follow these instructions for all four bearings on your Z axis to complete the upgrade.
