Limiting Z-axis movement on both sides allows for prevention of running too low in case mechanical failure has caused missed steps. Removing issues stemming from unreliable z-proximity detectors that do not maintain stable sensitivity levels is also achieved. Using normal miniature limit switches, which replaces the sheet metal cam, helps resolve problems. Pins made of steel wire are used. Rods undergo a 90-degree bend to ensure proper alignment and are secured together using pop rivets as rod material. The interconnection between rods is done with an electrical screw connector block.
