Z axis leadscrew support Mod Wilson II
thingiverse
This is Wilson II spacific but can be used with any Z axis using Nema 17 motor and M8 leadscrew combination. KFL08 8mm Self-aligning Pillow Bearing utilizes its full potential to provide a smooth ride for the X carriage. Going all out with a full aluminium coupler yields the same impressive results as the printed solid coupler, but with an even better mechanical grip on the shaft. While it performs reasonably well, higher speed printing starts to transmit vibrations into the print. To address this issue, I'm considering reusing those springy couplers in their intended manner. The bearing takes the load of the X carriage, while the springy coupler drives the Z axis, and my hope is that some of the vibration and acceleration and deceleration in Z at high speed prints will be partially absorbed. To further eliminate any potential issues, I would run the leadscrew through the bearing and into the coupler, which would shorten the leadscrew by a significant amount. A printed adapter is available for those who need to secure the lead screw to the top mount, but most setups don't require it. Print settings are as follows: Printer: LulzBot TAZ 6 Custom Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 80%
