Z Axis FlSun Leadscrew Bearing Support
thingiverse
Because I wanted to replace the original leadscrews with longer ones, something was needed to support the other end of the leadscrews. The thingiverse link https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2552986 was found to be nothing that would keep it at exact tolerances and sturdy enough. This design https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2831543 comes close, but it doesn't prevent user error from occurring. This design replaces the L-shape bracket and provides exact distances as the motor mount above. Plus it is stable on all three axes and is torque resistant. Designed from scratch in Fusion 360 using the exact distances found in the motor mount. The top motor mounts stl were imported to measure them more precisely, with enough room for brackets to go on the outside: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:98234 Edit 2018-11-14: To fit exactly between the top motor coupler and the bottom support bearing, the T8 rods had to be trimmed down to 380mm. Another good thing found is this https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2350350 which can be inserted just under the coupler. Additional note: The only play now is the actual coupler which flexes in the z (up-down) direction. A plan was made to swap for this https://www.aliexpress.com/item/UXCELL-5mm-to-8mm-Inner-Dia-Rotatable-Universal-Steering-Shaft-U-Joint-Coupler-for-Connect-Motor/32900293107.html or this https://www.banggood.com/5mm-8mm-Shaft-Coupling-Rigid-Coupler-Motor-Connector-With-Spanner-p-1070710.html. Edit 2020-03-22: The overall height was lowered so that the V-Slot Bearing Wheels have more room.
