Z Axis Fine Adjustment

Z Axis Fine Adjustment

I finally accomplished it! I finally managed to create my own version of a compact z-axis adjustment. The knob was designed using the same knurled geometry from the MakerBot Knurled Surface Finishing Library Nut and Bolts. You can find the design files at this link: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:9095 The photos show slight variations from the files (approximately 4mm shorter). Once assembled, it functioned well except for one issue - the screw would turn freely. To prevent this, I increased the height slightly and added a hex rib inside the upper plastic part to secure a nylon locknut in place. A standard 3mm nut is used inside the knurled knob. Additionally, a bed leveling spring was installed to maintain pressure at all times. You can find an alternative version using an Optical Endstop Sensor here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4074513. If you're looking for more printing accessories, you can check out my limit switch supports here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2894364 and my hot bed glass retainers here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2897314 This compact z-axis adjustment is the same Bed Leveling Knob I have posted before.
