UPDATE: Realized that I had forgotten to add the file for the Universal Filament guide I designed, it is now included. This is my first prototype for a Z Axis extension kit specifically designed for the Wanhao Duplicator i3 Plus. Unlike other Z axis extensions on Thingiverse, this kit works seamlessly with the plus model due to its unique guide rod mounting design. Moreover, it is sized to avoid interfering with different Wanhao z brace kits that can be printed. This file includes one bracket file that requires printing twice, once as a normal version and again as a mirrored version, along with a custom filament guide that can be either glued or 3M adhesive'd to the cross member. The guide can be used with or without the stock spool holder; however, I strongly advise using an external holder due to increased vibration during printing caused by weight on top of the gantry. The brackets feature a 10mm hole on the side for attaching accessories, and two separate styles are included here. Any tool designed with a 10mm pin can be installed for specific purposes. To install this kit, you will need 12 (3x12-15mmm) screws to replace the stock cross member screws, as well as 4 (3x50mm) screws to secure the guide rod block to the guide rod seat. If you are only installing the extension, 4 3mm nylock nuts will be required; if you have installed or plan to install the z brace kit, an additional 8 (12 total) nylock nuts will be necessary. A fair number of 3mm washers should also be on hand, depending on their thickness, for placement between the bracket and the cross member. It is crucial to install the Guide Rod blocks first, then set the free gantry down onto the guide rods, and finally attach the brackets to ensure a smooth installation process.
