Z Axis End Stop - Minimalist
thingiverse
Create a Z-stop for your 3D printer using a microswitch and ethernet cable. Print out two parts, ZstopA and ZstopB, ensuring the B part fits inside A without sticking out. Cut an old ethernet cable to the desired length, with only pins 5, 6, and 7 needed. Solder the cores according to the diagram provided, insulating with tape or heat shrink. Assemble the switch, adjusting the set screw for height control. Mark and drill holes in your printer, ensuring you don't damage electronics. Securely fasten the switch, then connect it to the Z-axis stepper drive's top plug. Test the functionality of your new Z-stop with the control panel before adjusting to the correct level.
