This is a useful device I've created to ensure the Z rods are level. Place it exactly as shown in the image and position the top x-axis rod under the device. Next, switch off the printer or motors. Now, if the top x-bar makes contact with both sides of the device, you're good to go. If not, adjust the rods so that the top x-bar touches both sides of the device.
