My own requirements were: No need to reprint existing parts; No loss of printable space; Use of the PLA property for the elastic force required for the system to work; Easy installation; I think I've made it work... ;) 01-09-2015 Update You may experience wear on both the threaded rod and the nut, especially if you're using z-lift frequently. This is evident when the Z step motor starts skipping steps and struggles to lift the Y carriage. After six months of almost daily use, I had to replace mine due to excessive wear. Upgrading to a stainless threaded rod was necessary, which fortunately cost only 2 euros. The new rods are significantly better quality than the originals. I also recommend replacing the nuts accordingly. Additionally, be cautious not to over-tighten the upper nut. Some example images demonstrate the improved Z quality achievable with this add-on.
