Z adjustment wheel
thingiverse
This is the Z adjustment wheel I crafted for my DIY drill press to mill conversion project. I began with a fully functional plastic prototype and then milled out a steel one using the DIY mill that I had built with the help of the plastic prototype. It feels very comfortable in your hand; you'll want to use it all the time! In my specific application, I threaded the center to 1/2" UNF (20tpi) to match the lead screw. However, I believe this design would also work well for UNC thread configurations as well. This Z adjustment wheel could also be used effectively as an adjustment knob at the end of a shaft in various applications. If you find my work helpful and inspiring, please hit "like" and take a look at my other uploads as well. I've included the FCStd file for those who need to edit the dimensions for their specific application. The FCStd format is the native working file format used by FreeCAD.
