Here is a custom upgrade kit for the Z-axis of the CTC that I built using aluminum profiles with a 20x20mm footprint. However, it should be compatible with most 20x20mm frames without modifications. I'm using original CTC motors with ball bearings instead, but you can reuse the stock linear bearings from your current setup if they fit. Just keep in mind that this upgrade kit requires 8 of these linear bearings. The Z-axis system works seamlessly in a different printer of mine with Nema 23 motors and belts without any issues whatsoever. I had to use larger extruder motors because it wasn't able to drive the X axis, though!
