Yungang Grotto 3
sketchfab
Yungang's largest grotto, known as "Lingyan Temple," is Grotto 3. Historical records reveal that the Northern Wei Lingyan Temple can host over 3,000 individuals for Buddhist events. Initially designed as a massive tower temple with an innovative layout, it was left unfinished during the Northern Wei Dynasty. The northern wall of Grotto 3 features statues of Amitabha, Avalokitesvara, and Mahasthamaprapta, referred to as the "Three Holy Ones of the West." Yungang Grotto 3's 3D model is a collaborative product of laser scanning technology and photogrammetry, produced by Zhejiang University and Yungang Grottoes Academy.
