Yuneec Q500 CGO3 External Antenna Mount
thingiverse
Most Q500 pilots know moving the camera's WiFi 5.8GHz antenna from inside the CGO3 camera will boost your video range significantly. Numerous articles and YouTube videos detail this modification, but most require drilling a hole or modifying the body to mount the antenna properly. I sought a way to mount the antenna without drilling or zip tying it in place, and also make it removable if needed. After experimenting with different approaches, I came up with a solution that works well. After printing the part, sand the bottom to match the curve of your Q500 body's mounting point precisely. Attach hook and loop (soft side) to the Q500, and the hook side to the mount. You can use a cut-up battery strap for this purpose; just make sure it has good grip. This setup has proven reliable after many flights, with the antenna staying firmly attached in place. I mounted it with the SMA mount facing forward, which provides leverage to help keep the antenna from coming loose.
