This is a model of the Yugoslavian conversion of M3a3 tanks, supplied by the British in 1944. At that point, the Yugoslavian resistance was operating as a full-fledged army, fielding two full armored brigades. They proved to be very resourceful, mounting both pak 40s and 20mm Flak 38 Flakvierling on damaged M3a3s. Please see the tanks-encyclopedia.com light-tank-m3a3-20mm-flak-38-flakvierling/ post for some background information. I began with the excellent accredited M3a3 model, then worked up the turret. The hull machine gun was left off the print to avoid fragility; a small bit of paper clip was glued into a recess in the hull to represent the Browning MG barrel. Hopefully, Warlord Games will recognize the wargaming potential of the Balkans and give proper recognition to this theater.
