Yucca Cane or Adam's Needle, native to Central America and Mexico. A member of the lily family, Asparagaceae, the plant is also known as Stick Yucca or Spineless Yucca due to its lack of spines on the trunk. The leaves grow upwards from a central crown in a tight cluster and resemble those of a palm tree. Elephantipes, however, has broad green leaves that are long and thin. When grown outdoors, it tolerates extreme heat well, but can't withstand cold temperatures, making it a houseplant that thrives best when the windows have filtered light or grow under an unshaded outdoor space in warm weather conditions
